Code of Conduct

Our Quality & Environmental Policy is completed by the Code of Conduct.

The STEGO Board of Management and all employees of the STEGO group are committed to fundamental ethics and conduct guidelines based on the four key aspects "human rights", "employment and environmental protection" and "fighting corruption". These key aspects are substantiated by the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact.

We want to raise the awareness of all parties involved for the principles stated in the “Code of Conduct”, and thus unanimously acknowledge the core values of our company.

In accordance with the “UN Global Compact”, the STEGO group declares the following principles as binding:

1. Adherence to the Law

  • STEGO acknowledges the legal system in each country STEGO operates in (as far as is known).

2. Human Rights

  • STEGO respects all employees being free and equal of dignity and rights without any distinction of race, complexion, gender, age, language, religious belief, political or other conviction, national or social origin and other class, and respects the dignity, privacy and personality of each employee.

3. Labour Standards

  • We commit to hire employees only who have reached a minimum age of 16 years.
  • We shall not accept any form of discrimination, neither by direct nor by indirect behaviour.
  • STEGO puts value on appropriate payment of its employees.
  • We are aware of our responsibility for the health and safety of our employees and therefore consider it a very important task to periodically train employees in workplace safety and precautionary measures to avoid occupational accidents. For these purposes a Workplace Safety Management System will be installed in accordance with the standards of OHSAS 18001.

4. Fighting Corruption

  • STEGO opposes any form of corruption including blackmailing and bribery. Therefore we cannot approve to grant or to accept any benefits during the initiation or award of contracts which are appropriate to prejudice any business decisions.

We will conveniently work towards the compliance with the contents of our Code of Conduct by our suppliers. All suppliers may take notice of the contents of the STEGO Code of Conduct by a corresponding link to STEGO's homepage.
